It seems people just toss away pets that they no longer want.
I found this Cockatiel out by the Koi pond and thought it was a mourning dove (I didn't have my glasses on) and when I looked closer I saw that it was yellow and had a parrot type beak. It just stared at me while I walked over and picked it up.
I called the local pet store to see if anyone was missing one and they gave me a lady's number ..I called and said that I had found a cockatiel and wondered if it was her bird..she told me she had lost a cockapoo (a cocker spaniel poodle dog mix) and that she had already found him..well at least that story had a happy ending.
